A Blades of Avernum Scenario

Introduction

Chapman's School of Magery, set in the remote province of Toronde, is famous for producing the most skilled and vertatile mages in the Empire.

Two months ago, the school mysteriously shut its doors, allowing nobody to enter or leave.  Soon after, the land around began to fester.

The authorities, alarmed at losing such a valuable resource, offered a generous bounty to anyone who could break in and save the school.

You couldn't resist.  You travelled to Toronde the moment the bounty was announced, and arrived in the small town of Olsen ready to do battle with whoever - or whatever - has taken over the school.

Death at Chapmans is a small Blades of Avernum scenario designed for first level parties.  A brand new party is quite capable of completing the scenario, though any party with characters up to level six should find it challenging and (hopefully!) fun to play, without being too hard to win.  There are several variations in the ending of the scenario, so you may want to play it through more than once.

The motivation for writing this scenario was the Blades of Avernum Short Scenario contest, organised by ButteredToast.  We had two weeks to create a scenario which met certain requirements; hopefully Death at Chapmans meets them all.
